Eligible Advertising Expenses

Traditional Advertising

Circulars, Flyers, Direct Mail & Bill Stuffers

Eligible expenses include the printing and distribution costs of the piece, only if eligible Owens Corning products are featured. If multiple products are featured, funds can be applied toward a prorated share of the costs. Ads with competitive products will not qualify.

Local Newspapers & Billboards

Eligible expenses include the cost of the ad including colour and position charge for space devoted to individual eligible products, plus a prorated share of the headline and signature. Ads with competitive products will not qualify.

Local Broadcast Radio & Television

A great way to support your print, other advertising, or special events to build awareness. During key sales periods, identify local stations your customers tune in to. Ask their sales office to identify time periods or programming targeting your customers (i.e. small builders and contractors) to avoid waste and evaluate effectiveness. Buying off-peak time simply due to cost, could be a waste if your target isn’t experiencing it. Remember to include your store’s name, address and contact information.

Consider Other Radio Tactics Like:

  • Radio Remotes – which take place LIVE at your store, typically for a number of hours.
  • Radio Program Sponsorship – especially those that relate to home or building issues.

Download pre-scripted, ready-to-use 15 and 30-second commercials.

For television: Must include the Owens Corning logo and video or still photography of Owens Corning package(s) or product(s) being featured, which must be pre-approved by the Marketing Department.

Proof of Performance Required

Signed and completed original broadcast tearsheet, scripts or CD/DVD, and station confirmation of performance including script identification for each commercial aired.

Logo Guidelines

Every time the Owens Corning name, products and/or logos are used, the creative must be pre-approved by Owens Corning legal prior to production.

Here’s how:

  1. Ensure you are using the proper Owens Corning logo, product name and latest images.
  2. If you are using the Pink Panther™ image (guidelines are below), the creative must also be reviewed and approved by MGM with no less than 8 business days for the approval process. Marketing Canada will facilitate all approvals.
  3. Submit creative layouts/mock-ups to: MarketingCanada@owenscorning.com for review and approval/comments.

Logo – Staging

A clear “staging” area is required around the Owens Corning brand mark for it to stand out. The staging height of a cap “O” is the minimum requirement.

Alternative for Small Spaces or Embroidery

When space does not allow for the Owens Corning logo, the “type treatment” may be used in Owens Corning Red (PMS 186), in 100% Black, or Cool Gray.

It Is Vital That He Be Used Properly

The Pink Panther™ is a key aspect of the Owens Corning Corporate Identity Program.

All artwork must be approved through the Owens Corning Marketing/MGM approval process prior to production. Incorrect usage dilutes the effectiveness of our marketing efforts and jeopardizes our licensing agreement. MGM reserves the right to place a cease and desist order on materials that violate its rules and will not be accountable for any costs incurred to revise or retract a communication.

When Pink Panther™ is used, the following legal line must also appear on the piece:

Panther Proximity Rules

  • Must be used in close proximity to the Owens Corning logo
